AT Consideration in the IEP Process

Another assistive technology module (from the same website mentioned in the previous post) that I reviewed as a part of my assignment was the module AT Consideration in the IEP Process. This module was extremely informative on how and why IEP teams need to consider assistive technology as a part of an IEP. The module describes the process that the IEP uses when evaluation of assistive technologies and the tools that they can use to aid this process. An important tidbit of information that I can provide you from this module is that "The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires IEP teams to consider the assistive technology needs of every student who is receiving special education service." This module has a lot of important information for special education educators, or those who are going to be apart of an IEP team!
