Voice
output communication devices are a type of assistive technology that allows students to engage in conversations and
communicate with others. These are a great tool for students with a variety of disabilities that are either non-verbal or have difficultly speaking. I have personally seen one of these devices in use for a student with Cerebral Palsy. When proper training is completed these devices can be very successful. One example of a common brand of voice output communication devices is Nova Chat.
